Don't miss the 4th Day Retreat!!
This year's 4th Day Retreat is going to be August 2-4, 2012. This is a wonderful 2-day
retreat for anyone who has been on an Emmaus weekend. It's for couples as well as
singles. The retreat takes place at the Caraway Conference Center in Asheboro, North
Carolina - a beautiful retreat center surrounded by nature. The format is similar to that
of Emmaus but with only 5 talks. It's a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time
with your Emmaus friends and it's always a lot of fun. The cost is $180.00 per person
with a $90.00 non-refundable deposit. Registrations will be accepted through May 3 but
you'd best get it in early because we have a limited number of rooms. Please refer to
the registration info here.
If you’ve ever been in pain, this weekend is for you. If you’ve ever known
suffering of any kind – whether physical, emotional, mental, or otherwise, this weekend
is for you. If you’ve ever experienced anxiety or depression, this weekend is
for you. If you’ve ever cried out to God to take away the pain, and wondered why
sometimes God seems to answer, and other times seems silent, this weekend is for you.
In A Place of Healing, Tada takes us on a very personal, intimate journey back to
foundational questions about healing, suffering, and hope. Whether we endure physical
pain, financial loss, or relational grief, Joni speaks to us as she leads us in an
exploration of how God is glorified and we are sanctified through our being healed - and
through our not being healed. The author encourages us to allow the truth of God’s
promises to change the way we see life, with all its challenges and obstacles; to allow
the grace, strength, help, encouragement, and blessings of God to ease our fears and calm
our anxieties, and give us hope and confidence when there doesn’t seem to be any earthly
reason for either!
You might be thinking that this book is not for sissies (and you might be right!), but I
think you’ll find yourself emboldened by the empowering evidence of God’s presence and
power in the midst of our weakness! Please join us on this Fourth Day journey, as we
explore the healing powers of laughter, prayer, touch, laughter, community, and oh, did
I say laughter? Remember – this weekend is for you!
